Hot stone massage pairs traditional massage therapy with the use of smooth basalt stones that retain heat. Promoting muscle relaxation and increased blood flow, the heated stones are used by the therapists while massaging the body and placed on strategic points such as along the spine to increase the benefits of deep tissue work.

Bamboo massage therapy is essentially the same as deep tissue massage. However, rather than the therapist simply using their hands to warm the muscles and reduce pain in the ligaments and joints, the therapist uses a roll of heated bamboo.
